On Being Creative

Creativity can be daunting, but it shouldn’t be. Sometimes I think as writers/creators we get in our own way far too often. We absorb massive content in an effort to and at times even stress over how to be more creative, where to get the next big idea and we can’t figure out why we are blocked, why the art that we love isn’t flowing from our very pores. You see, all around us is noise; it’s the traffic during our commute; the attention seekers at work/home/school; our daily obligations that zap our motivation.  Let’s face it, it’s hard to be creative and be excited about our current project when the bills are due, the budget and the car, once again, needs to visit the mechanic’s garage. Sometimes, we need the fortitude to reach beyond the noise, grab those small snippets of time and find our creative spark!

I love this infographic below! Not only are the 29 Ways to Stay Creative wonderful for creating, they will simply make you happy. Some of these I am already implementing, but I plan to try all of them. And I am an expert at #8!
